Hi Carp Fans,
Today me and the boy are going to fish Silverland Lake, Wick Farm, Lacock, Chippenham. This is a unknown water to me and there is very little information to be found on the web.
Silverlands Lake is situated in a rural location on a working farm, 1.5 miles from the famous N.T. village of Lacock.
The lake itself is approximately 3 acres of water and is stocked with Carp (mirror and common weighing upto 30lb), Bream and Tench, plus an abundance of silver fish.
There is a port-a-loo at lakeside. Some of our regular season Ticket holders are happy to give advice to newcomers.
Day, night or 24hr tickets are available (2006 prices Day £8 - 2 rods and 24hr £12 - rods).
Will add more on our return.

What a great day out... (thumbs up from me and Tom)

What a great day out... (thumbs up from me and Tom)

Me (Iain) and Tom arrived around 9am'is and paid £8.00 for the day ticket from the farm house... they are just setting up a payment booth at the lake, so it will be easier to purchase your ticket (not that it was hard at all).
Me being a carp man... had to get the lines in the water before sorting my son’s rod out. A little background about us. My names Iain (37 years young) father of Tom (9 years old) we have got into this competition thing to see who can catch the most fish.. well as you can imagine... Tom always wins - why is that... Any way all rods sorted and swim baited up (I was loaded with method feeder with pop up boilies on bite alarms and Tom (just learning) had my first rod that I started with - he was on a float using sweetcorn on the margins.
I managed to talk to a few of the other carpers around the lake and it was quite full... things have been quiet (maybe spawning) but a lot of them were dug in for the night. This lake has some good quality carp in it with a good head of 20's upto just over 30lbs. Well my batteries must have run out on my bite alarms as they were quiet all day but Tom as normal had a cracking day out with his sweetcorn. This has made me take up my old form of Carp Fishing and purchase myself a bivy and do jet fighters (nighters). Oh ye before I forget I asked one of the farmers who owns the lake how much a season ticket costs (6 months - £100) (12 months (£150)...

Until next time... 1 - 0 to Tom
